7 Days Samburu - Aberdare - Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara Safari

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu Game Reserve

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel for the drive to Samburu at 8:00am. You will drive north past the lush green central highlands with coffee and Tea plantations through Nyeri town and past the Mt Kenya area. Enjoy the view of Mt Kenya picks from a distance as you pass through the equator into the North. Drop down into Samburu area and check into the Sarova Samburu/Ashnil or Serena Samburu Campos by river Ewaso Ngiro.

Enjoy a lunch and a siesta in the camp. Later go on a game drive by the river to see the animals as they come to drink. Look out for the uniquely different animals of the north including gerenuk, Oryx, Grevy Zebra, reticulated giraffes and other animals. Dinner and overnight at Samburu lodge. Meal Plan: L,D.

Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve

Wake up early from your camp and enjoy a cup of coffee. Go on a game drive at the Ewaso Ngiro river to see the Lions, elephants, buffalos, hippos, cheetahs, leopards and crocodiles among others. You will also visit the buffalo springs game reserve to see more wildlife and take in the magnificent landscape including the river gorges, blue mountains, palm frond lined snaking rivers, and white grasslands interspersed with hardy shrubs. Enjoy a bush lunch by the river . Dinner and overnight at the camp/lodge. Meal Plan: B,L,D.

Day 3: Samburu – Aberdare National Park

Enjoy an early breakfast and depart Samburu with an enroute game drive towards Aberdares. Lunch at the base hotels of Outspans/Aberdare country club/Serena lodge. Later proceed with minimal luggage to your tree lodge hotels in Aberdares national park. Check in to the treetops or the ark lodges in the park for dinner and overnight.

Watch animals from your wildlife lookout terrace to watch the wildlife at the waterhole. The lodges offer a special service of night calls when an important animal visits the water hole like a leopard, rhinos, lions etc. Meal Plan: B,L,D.

Day 4: Aberdare – Lake Nakuru National Park

Enjoy an early breakfast and depart the lodge for Lake Nakuru national park. Arrive in Lake Nakuru in time for a lunch in Sarova/Lake Nakuru lodge. Enjoy a hot lunch and an afternoon game drive in the park. See the hundreds of birds including the millions of flamingos and other endemic birds.

Nakuru national park is also a sanctuary for Rothschild giraffe and white and black rhinos. Look out for Lions, buffalos, hippos, rhinos, leopards, giraffes and many others. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Meal Plan: B,L,D.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara Game Reserve

Go on an early morning game drive after a cup of coffee. Look out for the elusive animals like leopards, lions and others. Return to the lodge for a breakfast and later depart Lake Nakuru for Masai Mara at 9:00am. Arrive in Masai Mara by 1:00pm, check in to Sarova Mara, Simba lodge/Mara Serena/Keekorok Lodge and enjoy a buffet hot lunch. Relax in the lodge on a siesta or swim in the pool. Later go on an evening game drive at 4:00pm until dusk. Look out for the BIG FIVE animals including the Lions, Leopards, Rhinos, Elephants and buffalos and the many others including the hippos, giraffes, gazelles, zebras and many others. There are more than 3 million animals to see here.

Dinner and overnight at your lodge in Masai Mara. Meal Plan: B,LD.

Day 6: Masai Mara Game Reserve

All day in Masai mara with a full day game drive and packed picnic lunch by the Mara river. You will see the wildlife at the river including the hippos, crocodiles and the famous wildebeest river crossing stampede. Have your lunch by the river as you take in the beauty of the river monsters.

Return to the lodge in the late afternoon and enjoy a dinner and overnight at the lodge. Meal Plan: B,L,D.

Day 7: Masai Mara – Nairobi

Go on an early morning game drive in the park and return to the lodge for breakfast. Later depart Masai mara by 10:00am for Nairobi with an enroute lunch. Drop off in your hotel in Nairobi after the tour.
